The Minister for Public Health in 2000 strives at creating a reliable data-bank of health care practitioners as an indispensable tool, which will be available on-line. The Home Telecare project fits within the "Forum for the application use of telecommunication", which in turn is the third component of the "Scientific Programme for the Support and Dissemination of Telecommunication" which was passed by the Council of Ministers on 17 December 1993 and placed under the competence of the Federal Services for Scientific, Technical and Cultural Affairs. In the policy documents of the various ministers, no mention is made of encouraging ICT usage among home care providers nor is there anything specific in Belgium concerning implemented legislation/regulations.
